A fire raging out of control in northwest Los Angeles has forced the eviction of more than 10,000 people. while emergency services are working against the clock on Wednesday to contain the rapid spread of the flames.

The so-called Mountain fire broke out last Wednesday morning in the Somis area and in a matter of hours swept through the area. more than 4,000 hectares and destroyed numerous communities in Ventura County, adjacent to Los AngelesThe California State Fire Marshal’s Office, CAL FIRE, stated in its latest bulletin.

The fire is still active in the northeastern part of the fire.moving downslope toward the Santa Clara River. Red flag conditions (high winds, low humidity) are expected to continue through Friday in most areas,” the statement said.

State Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement that the rapid advance of the flames forced the evacuation of more than 10,000 people and threatened 3,500 homes, structures and businesses. “This is a fire dangerous which is spreading rapidly and threatening lives. State resources have been mobilized to protect communities,” the brief added.

For the time being the causes of the flames are unknown.The flames are still active and advancing out of control, driven by strong winds from southern California. However, the National Weather Service predicted that winds “will diminish more rapidly in the afternoon,” which could help prevent further spread of the fire.
