U.S. president-elect, Donald Trumpannounced on Tuesday the nomination of war veteran and network host Fox’s Pete Hegseth as the new secretary of defense.
“Pete has spent his entire life as a warrior for the troops and the country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First.“, Trump has said in a statement with which he unveiled his nominee.
Hegseth, a decorated veteran of the wars of Iraq y Afghanistanand a graduate of Princeton University, will head the Pentagon and lead more than 1.3 million active duty troops.
Similarly, for eight years he has been an anchor on the conservative Fox network and has written the bestseller The Warriors’ War.

Hegseth’s is one of the nominations that the Republican has communicated throughout this Tuesday, a day in which he also announced that the richest man on the planet, Elon Musk, and businessman and former Republican presidential nominee Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle the government bureaucracy.reduce excessive regulations, cut unnecessary spending, and restructure federal agencies,” the former president said.
Other notable appointments announced today included the appointment of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as the new ambassador to Israel.
This Tuesday, the future president also announced that businessman and philanthropist Steve Witkoff, one of his closest friends, will be his future special envoy for the Middle Eastand announced the appointment of John Ratcliffe, former Director of National Intelligence, to head the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
