The president-elect has appointed one of his most loyal followers in Congress to head the Department of Justice

Donald Trump has chosen Matt Gaetz to serve as Attorney General of the United States.

The president-elect wrote in his announcement that the Florida congressman “distinguished himself in Congress by focusing on achieving much-needed reform at the Department of Justice,” and that he will “root out systemic corruption at the Department of Justice and return the department . to its true mission of fighting crime and upholding our democracy and Constitution.

Gaetz is a staunch Trump loyalist who is under congressional investigation for sexual offenses. “It would be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!” Gates wrote in response to the nomination.
