One of the NBA’s top stars, LeBron Jameshas Thursday he called for a vote for the Democratic candidate for the White House.a, the vice-president Kamala Harris.

“What are we talking about here? When I think about my children, my family and how they will grow up, I am clear about my vote. VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS!!!” said James in a post on his social media.

The message accompanies a video which is interspersed with. insulting or racist comments by Trump with historical images of the civil rights movement or more current images of migrants.

One of Trump’s cuts, from 1989, was directed at. the ‘Central Park Five,’ five Latino and black men wrongfully convicted. when they were teenagers in a rape case against whom the tycoon led a media campaign.

“Of course I hate these people, and let’s all hate them because maybe hate is what we need,” Trump, who has never apologized, said of those young men.

James closes the video with the message “hate sets us back”.

The four-time NBA champion has been close throughout his career to the Democratic Party, participating in events and calling for votes for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and for Joe Biden in 2020.

James’ public endorsement five days out from the election comes at a key moment for Democrats, who fear they are losing votes among African-American males.s, so far very loyal to the party.
