She shared her voice: “It’s something I’m really proud of.” “Part of the reason I wanted to participate [with critics] is because I’m really proud of my hard work and the fact that I gave 100 percent of myself, including my body, to this role. I’m proud of that, so I wanted to protect it.”

While Ariana’s voice may be noticeably different in the movie, it’s not the only change she’s made.

For the movie – which also stars Jonathan Bailey, Buen Yang, Michelle Yeoh Landing in theaters on November 22 – The “Attitude” singer is credited with her full name Ariana Grande Butera.

Ariana said in a Nov. 4 video: “This experience was like a homecoming for me.” Streaming with Justin Hill. “I feel like I came home in a lot of ways through what I learned from Glenda and from Elphaba, and, you know, that was my name when I went to see the show when I was 10 years old – and it felt like a really nice way to honor that.”
