What else did authorities say about Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest?

NBC News’ Wofford said Chigvintsev was arrested in Yountville, California, but did not disclose the exact location due to a privacy request from the alleged victim.

He added that as a result of this request, the sheriff will also not disclose the name, gender or age of the alleged victim or the individual’s relationship to Chigvintsev. However, Wofford did have something to say about the arrest.

He told E: “When someone is charged with a felony domestic violence offense, it usually means there is an obvious injury or a credible eyewitness.” News, “Our deputies were relieved when he was arrested for a felony domestic violence charge.”

Wofford continued: “Of course this could change as more evidence comes to light, but at the time of the arrest, deputies felt it was a felony charge and not a misdemeanor.”

He also shared why victims choose to keep personal information private in these cases.

“Some victims may not feel comfortable sharing all the details at the time of the suspect’s arrest,” Wofford noted. “Some victims feel embarrassed, threatened, or fear that the incident will affect their families. We have to give victims enough time and support, helping them realize that we are here to help.
