Brooks & Dunn are the kings of ’90s country music, but they’re nothing more than a few surprises with country music’s favorite cross-over star – Post Malone.

Malone and Blake Shelton pretended to be Brooks & Dunn onstage recently when they performed their hit song “Pour Me a Drink.” Malone pointed at Shelton and said, “What did you say before? You’re Ronnie and I’m Kix?

Shelton said with mock seriousness: “I’m Ronnie Dunn, and you’re Kix Brooks tonight at this performance. Brooks and Dunn.”

With a grin, Shelton played the song and sang while Malone hopped barefoot on stage with a drink in hand.

The trend tickled Brooks & Dunn so much that they shared the video on their social media pages.

Dunn told the American Songwriter that Malone is “actually a nice guy” and draws a lot of attention to country music.

Dunn said: “He’s very talented.” “We move back and forth every now and then. We play with some tricks.”

Ed Brooks: “The man knows his country music.”

Dan said: “He’s a Texas boy.”

Brooks concluded: “He didn’t just show up yesterday and decide he wants to be a patriot.”

However, Malone is not ready to put on a pair of cowboy boots. He goes barefoot.

Dan said: “Cowboy boots hurt his feet.”

Like Malone, who recently released an album full of duets, Brooks & Dunn also has a collaborative mood these days. The guys released an 18-song duet-type package called Replay 2 on November 15. Although Malone isn’t on the list, there are plenty of surprises. Halestorm puts their unique take on rock on “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” a full orchestra backs Jelly Roll on “Believe” and Warren Zeiders goes Nirvana on “Brand New Man.”

Replay 2 is a far departure from Brooks & Dunn’s original reboot as they asked the artists not to stray too far from the original.

Dunn said: “We were kind of scared because people… generally don’t care about other versions if they deviate too much from the norm.” “This message that was sent to all the artists and stuff was:” ‘Pick the song. Do it however you want, and we’ll stand in line. ‘ That’s what turned it into something completely new. It was an explosion, a great time.”
