Located in the northwestern part of the country, crossed by mountain ranges and eminently rural, Idaho en one of the major Republican strongholds in the northwestern United States: the Democrats have not won there since 1968, a trend that will be repeated in the 2024 presidential election.

Known as “the gem state” because of its riqueza in mineral and natural resourcesIdaho is made up of vast landscapes of mountains, rivers and forests. Eminently rural and agricultural, in recent decades it has also developed urban areas -driven by the influx of people from California and Oregon in search of a higher quality of life in a low-tax territory traditionally- and economic activities such as the technology industry.

Trump’s victory was due to his strong showing in the rural and suburban areas of the state, which share conservative values on issues of economics, gun control and state intervention..
