Exclusive: Former Dogwoof CEO Luke Brawley’s specialized non-fiction agency Indox has added two new titles, both first-time directors, to its current roster.

Indox will handle the international festival rights to Max Keegan’s Shepherd and Bear and the UK and Ireland delegate on Was there, wasn’t there by Emily Mkrtchian.

Produced by Elizabeth Woodward (Another body) along with the directing duo of Amanda McBain and Jesse Moss (Girl Country). Shepherd and bear closed this year’s Camden International Film Festival and will next be screened at IDFA. Set in the majestic French Pyrenees, the film examines the battle between heritage and modernity as the reintroduction of brown bears first collides with a traditional herding community.

“We are delighted to be working with Luc to bring him Shepherd and bear Keegan said in a statement this morning: “To festival fans around the world. “Producing this film has been a very emotional and intense process for the entire team. We at Indox believe we have found a partner who can apply the same level of rigor to the running of our festival.”

Was There, Wasn’t There Produced by Brooke Williams (on her shoulders) and Mara Adina (Chuck Norris vs. Communism) It will be part of the local Indox branch, which covers the United Kingdom and Ireland. The film premiered at the True/False Film Fest in Columbia, Missouri, and won the FIPRESCI Award and Jury Mention at the Golden Apricot Film Festival in Armenia.

Described as “powerful and striking,” Mkrtchyan’s film follows the lives of four women on the brink and in the aftermath of the sudden invasion of Artsakh, an autonomous republic between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is dissolved in 2023 after a sudden war.

Mkrtchyan told us: “It’s exciting to be included in Indox’s selection of films, all of which speak to our current moment in profound and artistic ways.” “We look forward to working together to bring this story to European audiences.”

Brawley added: “I’m delighted to announce the addition of another title to our international collection, in addition to our domestic selection, especially given that both titles are first-time filmmakers. Indox remains committed to supporting the best in non-fiction and helping these stories reach a wider audience, and we are excited to continue to do so in flexible ways, targeting audiences both internationally and across the UK and Ireland.
