Indox Boards’ non-fiction agency for the Buzzy Festival titled “The Shepherd and the Bear” and “There Was, There Wasn’t”

Exclusive: Former Dogwoof CEO Luke Brawley’s specialized non-fiction agency Indox has added two new titles, both first-time directors, to its current roster.

Indox will handle the international festival rights to Max Keegan’s Shepherd and Bear and the UK and Ireland delegate on Was there, wasn’t there by Emily Mkrtchian.

Produced by Elizabeth Woodward (Another body) along with the directing duo of Amanda McBain and Jesse Moss (Girl Country). Shepherd and bear closed this year’s Camden International Film Festival and will next be screened at IDFA. Set in the majestic French Pyrenees, the film examines the battle between heritage and modernity as the reintroduction of brown bears first collides with a traditional herding community.

Described as “powerful and striking,” Mkrtchyan’s film follows the lives of four women on the brink and in the aftermath of the sudden invasion of Artsakh, an autonomous republic between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is dissolved in 2023 after a sudden war.
