The Court of Rome referred this Monday to the justice of the European Union (EU) the situation of immigrants directed to the centers that the Italian government has built at Albania and, in the meantime, suspended the retention of a group of seven.
The migrants – 5 from Bangladesh and 2 from Egypt – were taken on Friday by the Italian military ship Libra to the controversial centers in Albania and their their detention has been “suspended”, so they will be returned to Italyaccording to media reports.
The Italian judiciary has thus avoided a direct confrontation with the Government of Giorgia Meloniafter the Roman Court decided last October 16 not to allow the detention of a first group of 12 immigrants sent to Albania.
