Criticism Joker: Folie à Deux A month into its theatrical run, this time the call comes from inside the house.

Comedian Tim Dillon, who had a small role in Todd Phillips’ recent musical comic book sequel, called the movie “the worst movie ever” as he gave his behind-the-scenes account of playing a guard at Arkham Asylum.

“I think what happened after the first clownThere was a lot of talk like, “Oh, that was loved by incels.” This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. He sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism! “All these pieces of thought,” he looked at The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “And then I think [they said]”What if we went the other way,” and now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga dancing so much it’s crazy.”

Dillon added: “It doesn’t have a conspiracy. We were sitting there, me and these other guys, we were all wearing these security suits because we work at Arkham Asylum, and I’d walk up to one of them and we’d hear this shit and I’d say, “What?” and – is this?” and they’d say, “This is going to get bombed, man. I’m like: “This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.” We were talking about it at lunch, and we were wondering: What’s the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he fell in love with her in prison? It’s not even worth watching. That’s how terrible it is.”

After the success of 2019’s OG, which grossed $1.078 billion at the box office and two Oscars, this year’s sequel flopped, grossing $204 million globally so far.

Although Paul Schrader, Bill Maher and others criticized the film, video game maker Hideo Kojima said he could see it becoming a classic in the next two decades, and Quentin Tarantino also defended the film.

“I really, really, really liked it. A lot. Tarantino said, adding of Phillips: “It’s phenomenal,” adding of Phillips: “He says f-you to all of you. He’s saying f- you to the movie audience. He’s saying f- you to Hollywood. He’s saying f-you to anyone who owns any stock in DC and Warner Brothers. And Todd Phillips is the Joker. The Joker movie, well, it is what it is. It’s the Joker.”
