Los Angeles is celebrating the Dodgers' World Series victory by putting a blue D on the Hollywood sign.

To honor the Los Angeles Dodgers’ eighth World Series victory, the city changed the “D” on the iconic Hollywood sign to blue.

After injury-free first innings that left spectators on the edge of their seats, the Dodgers won Game 5 of the 2024 World Series, leaving the stadium with a 7-6 victory. It’s the second World Series win since 2020, and if you don’t count it for anything, it also marks the team’s first World Series title in a full season in 36 years.

Whether you were at the game or watching from there, cheers could be heard from around the world; more or less literally, as Japanese fans of pitcher Shohei Ohtani gathered for a viewing party to help celebrate their hometown hero’s first World Series win.
