Diddy accused of sex trafficking and extortion

After Combs was arrested on the sealed indictment, the indictment was unsealed on Sept. 17.

The 54-year-old was charged with conspiracy to extort. sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; as well as transportation for prostitution, according to court documents obtained by NBC News.

The indictment alleged that Combs “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his behavior” for more than a decade, with prosecutors saying the alleged behavior began around 2008.

The documents state: “To do so, Combs relied on the personnel, resources and influence of the multifaceted business empire he led and controlled, creating a criminal enterprise in which members and associates participated and attempted to engage.” Other crimes include sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

According to NBC News, Combs has pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail.

His lawyer said: “He’s going to fight this with all his energy and all his strength.” Mark Agnifilo “And full confidence in his lawyers,” he told reporters outside the courtroom before the arraignment.
