The Canadian pop star has announced her third album So close to what Earlier today

Following the announcement of her album and tour earlier today, Tate McRae has released her new single “2 Hands.” The pop star worked on “2 Hands” with an all-star team of songwriters: Ryan Tedder, Lostboy, and Amy Allen. It’s an electro-pop love song, with McCrae asking for “less talking/more touching.” She sings in the chorus: “I just want your hands on me at all times, baby / If you let go, you better put them back on fast.” Sean Bankhead (Cardi B, Victoria Monet) directed the video, which shows the singer wandering around the suburbs.

“‘Hands’ shows a different side of me than what people are used to,” McRae shared in a statement. “The song captures the feeling of falling in love and how sometimes just being close to someone is all you really need. True connection goes beyond the need for constant reassurance or luxury items, what matters is just being together.

In addition to announcing her album today, the 21-year-old also revealed that she will be embarking on a massive 50-date world tour. Starting in March, McRae will hit the road across North America, South America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Zara Larsson will join her in the Americas while Benee will open for her in Europe and the UK.
