With Zac Bryan announcing his retirement from the stage and country music, fans are enjoying every moment with the singer. Still releasing songs like “High Road” and “This World’s A Giant,” Bryan has decided to go back to school for a master’s degree. To make the most of this experience, the country singer will be traveling to Paris. Although Brian is sure to return to country music in the future, the singer has given more than a few memorable performances such as the time he honored Tyler Childers and his song “Follow You To Virgie.”

Zac Bryan brilliantly covers “Follow You To Virgie”

A few years ago, Zac Bryan decided to share his love for Childers and his ability to masterfully blend folk and bluegrass. After releasing several albums, Tyler received praise for his album Live on Red Barn Radio I and II. Although the album features more than a few great songs, Brian seemed to gravitate toward “Follow You To Virgie.” Brian didn’t need a stage or a band, and simply covered the song in a room with a guitar.

Letting the words flow gracefully, fans couldn’t get enough of Bryan’s cover. “Man, he’s probably the only artist who could pull this off and sound as good as Childers. In my humble opinion, of course. I mean, it’s obvious why Childers feels this song so deeply. Because it’s his song. His story, his friends’ grandmother. But Zac sings it with the same power and passion that Tyler does. I think we can all think of an old lady like Cody’s grandmother that we miss. One comment included: “Zach, we all get emotional when that song plays. Tyler has the strength to get through it…and that’s what makes him special.”

Although the cover is stunning, some fans couldn’t get over the way Fergie pronounced it. In response to the comments, listeners wrote: “I really felt it, and then Virgie made me laugh.” Another user added: “Well… that’s one way to pronounce ‘Virgie’.”

In response to another comment asking “how many people were offended by the way he pronounced the word virgin,” one fan summed it up perfectly. “Who cares?” they wrote: “It’s not what it’s about. You put your heart into it,” they wrote, adding, “It’s one of the most emotional things I’ve ever heard.”

Brian does more than just cover songs for Tyler Childers

Outside of covering Childers, Zach Bryan also defended the country singer when he had his first Top 50 radio hit with “In Your Love.” Bryan, a Childers fan, couldn’t understand how it took Childers so long to end up in the Top 50. He shared his thoughts on Twitter, image now deleted Read the message “‘First Ever’ is absolutely insane, and he’s one of the best songwriters to ever do it.” He continued in another tweet: “Imagine you’re a radio (who the hell is he), you hear [Childers’] “Shake the Frost” and say “No, let’s start with the Applebee’s song.”

Despite honoring Childers, Bryan seemed to criticize Walker Hayes and his song “Fancy Like.” With fan comments, the country singer cleared the air, insisting: “I’m not insulting anyone! I meant it in humor and not malice, it was different strokes for different people bent on the first thing ever on mainstream radio, which is bad.
