U.S. President-elect, Donald Trumpannounced Monday the nomination of Fox News anchor Sean Duffy as the next Secretary of Transportation. and former Wisconsin congressman.

Duffy, 53, served in Congress from 2011 to 2019, and currently hosts a program on finance and politics on Fox Business and also contributes to Fox News, Trump’s favorite news channel.

He is the second cabinet member announced by Trump to work for Fox, in addition to incoming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Duffy gained fame in the late 1990s thanks to his participation in several reality TV shows.before serving as district attorney for Ashland County, Wisconsin.

In a statement, Trump noted that Duffy “is a Fox News STAR.” and that, as a father of nine, he knows “how important it is for families to be able to travel safely and with peace of mind.”

The president-elect assured that his Secretary of Transportation “will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness and beauty when rebuilding America’s roads, tunnels, bridges and airports.”

“Sean will use his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and fulfill our mission to usher in the golden age of travel,” the incoming president stated.

Trump stated that Duffy was during his time in Congress “a respected voice and communicator” for his Republican colleagues and championed “fiscal responsibility, economic growth and rural development.”

If confirmed by the Senate, Duffy will replace Pete Buttigieg as head of the Department of Transportation.who has served in the position during the Joe Biden Administration and is one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party.
