Two shootings in downtown Orlando early Friday morning have left two people dead and six wounded. two dead and six wounded, at a time when up to 100,000 people were gathered for the celebrations of Halloween.

The first shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. (6 a.m. Spanish peninsular time) at an intersection, which was followed a few minutes later by another that occurred a short distance away, according to the chief of police of this central Florida city, Eric Smith.

The troops have detained 17-year-old Jaylen Edgarwho already had a criminal record, on suspicion of being the perpetrator of the two shootings, whose motivations are still under police investigation. According to authorities, Edgar may be tried and eventually sentenced as an adult.

The fatalities are two men aged 19 and 25whose identities have not been released. The ages of the injured range from 18 to 39, and all are in stable condition, Smith said.

The police officer added that at the time of the incident, there had been more than a hundred police officers were deployed. in the center of this tourist city.
