Texas-based convenience store and gas station Buc-ee’s wants to open a second Colorado location in Palmer Lake.

The company is still in the early planning stages and has inquired about the city annexing land for the potential gas station at County Line Road and Interstate 25, according to a Facebook posted by Palmer Lake Mayor Glant Havenar.

The Palmer Lake Board of Trustees has granted an eligibility hearing to the company to be held on December 12.

“This hearing is not to annex the land, it is simply to determine if the landowner is eligible to move forward in the process,” Havenar said in the post.

“Residents are encouraged to attend that meeting to get more information, ask questions and make comments.”

The mayor added that if Buc-ee’s is determined to qualify for annexation at the hearing, a series of community meetings would likely follow. And a subsequent annexation application would also require public hearings.

A spokesperson for Buc-ee’s told The Post that they are unable to provide a comment on the possible location at this time.
