Nicolas Cage is unrecognizable as the main character in the horror movie Long legs. Lead special effects makeup artist Felix Fox, lead makeup artist Madeline Hermans, and lead hair stylist Christine Char worked for two and a half hours each day to transform Cage into the diabolical serial killer.

Fox said: “There were about four designs,” Fox said. “What they settled on after we ran the test was that we were going to go to a slightly more extreme limit.”

Fox said the original concepts were less pale white and less cosmetically altered. She said the latest Longlegs movie pays homage to Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera. Moreover, they had to age from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Fox continued: “He has two looks for it,” Fox continued. “One is from the ’70s and the other has more makeup and a little bit of blue eyeshadow.”

Rock stars also provided inspiration for the Longlegs.

“One of the references that [writer/director] Oz [Perkins] Fox said: “Bob Dylan was brought in early in the Rolling Thunder Revue. “Personally, Marc Bolan from T-Rex. There were actually a lot of musical references. And geisha as well. The whole ritual compensation for the whole geisha and makeup experience was huge.

Char said Bolan inspired the Longlegs wig, which she attributed to Vancouver wig maker Stacey Butterworth. Char also styled the hair for the female character. Alicia Witt plays Ruth Harker, who grew up in the 1990s scenes. She built Witt’s hair from a 24-inch colorless wig. Her previous look came from a TV sitcom.

“I take a lot of inspiration from Katie This ’70s show Char said: “To really signify the ’70s.” “Poetry played a huge role in the ’70s.”

Hermans applied aging makeup to Witt.

Hermans said: “We’ll do some special effects to create wrinkles and make everything dull.” “Oz wanted to make it colorless, as if the life had been sucked out of it by the long legs and the demonic experience. There was a lot of powder.”

Maika Monroe, who plays Roth’s daughter, FBI agent Lee Harker, needed a bit of refinement by Harmans.

Harmans said: “Myka has really great skin and beautiful eyebrows and eyelashes.” “We were really focused on skin care again, no coverage, very light coverage, no concealer. We wanted to be able to see some of the darker colors under her eyes. I don’t even think I’m wearing mascara on her. I tinted her lashes and we said, “This is perfect.”
