Martin Freeman (responder), Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games) Malin Ackerman (guards), Jess Wexler (Monsters), Craig Roberts (submarine) Confirmed in the Jamie Adams cast Let’s love While the shooting is taking place in Wales.

The improvised comedy, written by Adams, with input from the cast, is being filmed around Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons, Porthcrawl, and at Dragon Studios in Bridgend. Post-production will be completed by early 2025.

The relationship comedy is produced by Bristol-based Happy Hour Productions and Manchester-based Boudica Entertainment in association with Principal Film Finance. Other cast members include Chloe Gwinnett and Richard Ellis.

Freeman stars as screenwriter Nigel alongside Ackerman as film director Andrea, Hutcherson as her husband, lead actor Jackson, and Wexler as Jess, his on-screen romantic interest. The quartet reunite in Wales for the 10th anniversary of their last hit movie, only to discover that the unlucky studio rep has booked the wrong month.

Filled with disappointment, and with the weekend now all to themselves, they are given a small consolation prize… a chance to pitch an idea for a sequel as early as next week, which leaves them only days to conjure up some inspiration to continue saving their careers.

In search of inspiration, they wander the Welsh countryside, inadvertently migrating to their historic movie location, where they are forced to explore their fears, aspirations, schedules, and fractured relationships.

“It’s a relationship comedy at its core, though it’s also a fish-out-of-water story as we see these hapless film professionals stranded in the middle of the Welsh mountains where they are forced to examine their own lives as they struggle to stay focused on the job at hand. “We’re putting these wonderful actors in some interesting situations, and it’s great to see the results,” said Happy Hour producer Tom George.

Adams is known for his improvisational style as a director as many of his features were shot on location and often over relatively short periods of time.

Recent titles include The Tale of a Struggling Rock Band The spread of lovewith Alia Shawkat and She is lovestarring Haley Bennett, Sam Riley and Marissa Abela, was filmed over the course of a week in Cornwall at the height of the Covid pandemic.

Let’s love It’s truly one of the greatest filmmaking experiences of my life, and the entire ensemble involved in the collaboration did everything they could, and I’m so grateful to our producers for making it happen. Independent filmmaking is alive and well, especially when it involves legends like Martin Freeman, Josh Hutcherson, Malin Akerman, and Jess Wexler. Adams said: Diolch yn fawr (Thank you very much).

Producer Rebecca Long of Boudica Entertainment said: “The unique opportunity to produce a feature film shot in director Jamie Adams’ original style and pacing, where the dialogue is mostly improvised by an amazing cast, is exciting.”

Martin Freeman said: “Working with Jamie Adams Let’s love It’s really a delight. I would gladly do it again, no problem. We couldn’t have been luckier than the actors we brought together as well.
